A lovely rustic antique Italian settle bench, dating to the late C18th / early C19th and constructed from chestnut wood.
Probably from central Italy, possibly Tuscany, with a later hand painted armorial on the back rest.
In good condition, still usable as a seat with good storage underneath, it has a lovely decorative presence showing centuries of use in the colour and wear on the timber.
